About

The Champaign County Redeploy Initiative (CCRI) serves at-risk youth aged 13 to 17 facing potential commitment to the Department of Juvenile Justice. CCRI aims to reduce youth incarceration by implementing evidence-based community programs, ensuring public safety and fostering positive youth development.

Guiding Principals:

  • Ensure that youth are served in their home communities and that families are an integral part of the planning process and treatment
  • Promote collaboration among key players including probation officers, prosecutors, public defenders, judges, community service providers, therapists, counselors, youth and families is vital to developing and executing a plan that will help produce the best outcomes for participating youth
  • Provide strong communication of our successes will help improve participation and support for services that aim to reduce youth involvement in the juvenile justice system
  • Shall do no harm
  • Offer services based upon individual assessments including risk level

Program goals include helping youth and families recognize how past trauma has affected their behavior and led them to the attention of the juvenile justice system and strengthening the trauma-informed caregiving skills of caregivers.

Cunningham Children’s Home is committed to delivering a comprehensive array of services as outlined in the Program Matrix. These include life coaching to guide and support individuals, community-based services and programs aimed at fostering community integration, employment and life skills development, work experience opportunities, vocational and job training to enhance career prospects, educational support to aid in academic achievement, opportunities to fulfill community service hours, transportation assistance for Redeploy and probation appointments, incentives to encourage active participation, and activities designed to provide parental support and strengthen family dynamics.

Eligibility

Individuals who:

  • Reside in Champaign County
  • Aged 13 through 17
  • Involved, or are at risk of involvement, in the juvenile justice system
  • IDJJ eligible and score moderate or high on the YASI Assessment
  • May be experiencing: Emotional/Behavioral concerns, Truancy, Domestic violence, Probation, Pattern of chronic offenses, Felony charge

Contact/Referral

Referrals must come from a court services staff. Contact your Public Defender or Court Personnel for information.
Each youth and their family referred to CCRI will undergo a case-by-case evaluation to assess whether our program can best meet their needs. Eligibility will be decided by the Redeploy evaluation team.
