At Cunningham, thousands of young lives have been wrapped in warmth, safety and love.

Quilt for our Kids

Since 1895, United Women in Faith and quilters from across Illinois have made quilts for our youth. Thanks to them, thousands of young lives have been wrapped in warmth, safety and love.

If you would like to make a quilt for a Cunningham youth, twin-sized is preferred — approximately 66″ x 96″ and keep in mind:

  • Most of our residential youth are between the ages of 11 and 17
  • 66% of our residential youth are boys

Donated quilts can be dropped off at the Spiritual Life Center, Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Once on our campus at 1301 N. Cunningham Avenue in Urbana, go right at the first stop sign and follow around to the circle drive in front of the Spiritual Life Center.

Each year, United Women in Faith and quilters from all over Illinois make and donate quilts for our kids and for the Festival of Quilts.

Donate a quilt for the Festival of Quilts

Over the years, hundreds of beautiful quilts have been donated for our signature fundraiser, the Festival of Quilts.

Guidelines

  • All proceeds from the Festival of Quilts will benefit Cunningham Children’s Home, a 501(c)(3) organization. All contributions are tax-deductible as allowed by law.
  • Quilts donated for the Festival of Quilts become property of Cunningham Children’s Home.
  • Print and complete the Donation Quilt Waiver form, which must accompany your quilt.
  • Quilts must be handmade. They may be either hand or machine pieced and quilted.
  • Quilts must be in excellent condition; complete, clean, and undamaged. The Festival of Quilts Committee looks for craftsmanship to determine pricing for quilts.
  • Donors are asked to provide suggestions regarding the quilt’s value and sale price; however, the Festival of Quilts Committee reserves the right to determine the starting bid  or buy-it-now price. Please remember this is a fundraiser for Cunningham kids, so some quilts may be “priced to sell,” at the Committee’s discretion.
  • Due to space limitations, the Festival of Quilts Committee reserves the right to place some quilt donations into the Gift Shop or Quilt Boutique.
  • Quilts that are not sold during the Festival of Quilts may be held for future events or sold in another venue, including but not limited to the Gift Shop, Quilt Boutique or online.
