Kids’ Daily Needs Fund
We encourage donations toward our kids’ daily needs general fund as it supports the most critical, ongoing needs of our youth on a daily basis. This fund is unrestricted and utilized to cover operational expenses, bridging the financial shortfall between reimbursement from referring agencies and the actual cost of caring for our children.
We recognize you might have preferences in supporting our youth in specific areas that are meaningful to you. The following funds have been set up by generous donors to assist services not included in our general operating budget:
Marlene Mitchell Vocational Fund
Established by Kent and Marlene Mitchell, longtime supporters of Cunningham and members of Faith United Methodist Church in Champaign, this fund aims help Cunningham youth acquire life and workplace skills, enhancing their prospects for employment. Annually, these funds support the Vocational Options Program, which offers vocational training and real world work experience to eligible Cunningham youth.
Massock Family Special Needs Fund
Created by Lucille Massock’s family to honor her service to Cunningham Children’s Home. Lucille, a former board member and member of the United Methodist Women, dedicated herself to helping our children. This fund helps current clients and their families with expenses not covered by other assistance. It has been used for medical needs like root canals, braces, glasses and other essential items.
William P. Myers Education Fund
Founded by the late Bill Myers and his wife, Adele, this fund provides aid to current and former clients seeking to advance their education. Support includes opportunities such as attending graduate school, trade school or obtaining a GED. Assistance is distributed on an individual basis, with referrals sourced from staff or directly from the client.
