About

Project Parenthood provides in home support to pregnant and/or parenting young adults through education, assessments, and connection to local resources. The program provides stability to help these young families succeed.

Young parents receive various services while learning how to care for their babies.

Support

  • Assessment of the baby’s health and care for both mothers and fathers
  • In-home or community visits to help improve parenting skills
  • Support services, including assistance with transportation to doctors’ visits
  • Individual counseling for the young parents
  • Provision of items needed for the baby

Eligibility

Individuals:

  • ages 14 through 21
  • in DCFS care
  • pregnant or a new parent
  • who reside in Champaign, Dewitt, Ford, Macon, McLean, Piatt and Vermilion counties.
Young parents are taught how to provide a safe, caring and loving environment for their children.
